Book Blurb:

Arrigo Giancarlo’s friends think he’s a rich young man with the unusual job of paranormal investigator, working with his psychic assistant in Las Vegas. In truth he’s a two-thousand-year-old vampire and member of the Chiaroscuro, a group of Supernaturals dedicated to keeping humanity safe from the more dangerous of their kind. He’s also openly bisexual… but alone.

When he spots Luc St. John in a bar, Arrigo is intrigued. What begins as an effort to repay the kindness shown to him in the past quickly turns into much deeper feelings for the suffering and displaced Cajun. For Luc’s part, he feels too poor, too uneducated, and too bound to his hateful family to ever be worthy of elegant and cultured Arrigo.

An old enemy, Eleni, blames Arrigo for murdering her true love. On the anniversary of that death, she’s back to take revenge. As Arrigo’s closest friends fall victim to savage attacks, he fears nothing will keep Luc safe. Should he break both their hearts and let Luc go, or is it too late? If Luc’s already in Eleni’s sights, Arrigo knows that like most things in Vegas, the odds are against him.

7: #HolidayTreeNovella #AppalachianElementals The Mama Me and the Holiday Tree Playlist

10, 9, 8, 7…This marks day four of my ten-day countdown to the release of Mama, Me, & the Holiday Tree. Today we’re taking a look at the #HolidayTreeNovella playlist, which is anything but standard holiday musical fare.

So does a novella deserve its own playlist?

(Steps back to carefully consider warily side-eye you.) Why wouldn’t it? Every work within the Appalachian Elementals series is getting its own playlist, including the shorter ones. If anything, the smaller ones get lists because they need a friend, something warm to hold on to just like their big siblings get.

🤔 Yes, Mama, Me, & the Holiday Tree has its own playlist, but it’s not your typical holiday song playlist, and I’ve done this for a particular reason. Faith. Simple enough, right? No, not really. Nothing about faith is simple. And there are two paths/faiths/whatever you wish to call them in Mama, Me, & the Holiday Tree, namely paganism (in its broadest meaning) and Christianity. With that in mind, I made careful selections for the playlist. Each song is reflective of the chapter’s content but doesn’t focus on any one religion. Sure, at least one song focuses on both, but that’s okay. It was either both or neither where I was concerned.

Each song image is also a clickable link to that song within the playlist, but here’s a direct link to the Mama, Me, & the Holiday Tree Playlist.

1) Bon Jovi “Who Says You Can’t go Home?” – Because home is where the heart is and where family is often waiting (I loathed this band back in the 80s, but their newer works have grown on me a little.)

2) Take That “Patience” – Cent needs some about now where Mama’s concerned.

Blurb: When I was eighteen years old, I knew everything there was to know about anything ever in the history of the entire world. I thought I was a genuine, Stephen Hawking-level genius. My entire life stretched ahead of me, and everything I’d ever wanted was going to be handed to me on a silver platter carried by admiring angels who’d ask, in dulcet tones, “Brendon, how’d you get to be so cool?”

I also thought I was immortal.

Thank God for summer break, for those ten weeks between high school and college when life took me roughly by the collar, shook me hard, and said with a deep, guttural laugh, “Buckle up, kid, ’cause I’m drivin’, and you don’t know squat.”
