#writeLGBTQ #LGBTQIP #ValentinesDay2019 #Paranormal Tidbits of Love

A just for fun, in honor of Valentine’s Day, bonus snippet from Keeping House, which is set for an August 2019 release. tidbits of love

Cent slowed for a skunk meandering across the road ahead. “Mating season. Wrong time of year to be searching for love if you ask me.”

“It’s their time.” Dane’s hand remained on her shoulder. “All things have their happy season.”

And you’re remembering one of ours just like I am. “I’m not certain where I’m at on the road anymore.”

“Well, it’s February. Valentine’s Day was last week and—”

“Get your head back on the drive.

Do something nice for a loved one, for yourself, or for the universe because love, as they say, is love.  ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

#WriteLGBTQ #WIP #KeepingHouseNovel Sweet

#writeLGBTQ #KeepingHouseNovel
The theme is sweet. How very sweet it is. Sweetie pie. Sweet nothings. Sometimes, something is just sweet, like this sweet little sample from Keeping House, which is set for an August 2019 release.

“Dane’s brought me here a couple of times.” Cent peered at the artwork on the wall behind Sissy. “It didn’t seem her kind of place at first, but now I think it is.”

“She don’t bring just anyone here.” Sissy smiled softly. “And she proposed to me right at this table. It was sweet and romantic.”

“Is that why you wanted to sit here?”

“Kinda.” Sissy leaned forward to wipe sandwich sauce from Cent’s lip. “Sitting here still gives me the warm fuzzies.”

#1lineWed #amwriting #Paranormal Fly

Here’s another short-‘n-sweet  #1lineWed post. The theme is fly. Fly me to the moon. Fly on the wall. Fly away home. Take flight. This fly is of the winged fey sort because my Appalachian Elementals series rolls flies like that.

“You can’t, admit it.” Dane surged forward to grab Cent around the waist, forcing her wings to roll then tuck as Exan and Pyre’s grips fell away. “Your spirit form can fly, but your real wings are puny. Best hold on, or I’ll let you fall.”

I ended up seeing my orthopedist again today (we’re almost on a first name basis) and, joy of joys, I need both my knees replaced. Yes, I knew this was coming because I’ve been bone on bone for a couple of years,  but I guess I hadn’t expected it yet. However, I’ve had real problems since December, the treatments we’ve been using have stopped working, and my knees have been swelling to triple their normal size, making them painful even to the touch. (These are not my x-ray images. While the bone on bone spots are identical, there are four-six bone spurs per knee and humongous swelling.)

He gave me a double-strength steroid shot in both knees to try to get ahead of the swelling. It’ll more than likely last a few days and then my knees will return to pontoon status. Joy.

Dangit. Okay. Yes, My ortho said it was more genetic than anything else, and I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis too. I see the surgeon on the 20th and will probably have the first surgery within two months.

More when I know more.

#WIPpet Wednesday*, a blog hop where authors share from their current works in progress (WIPs).

This week I’m picking up where we left off in Chapter Two.  Cent’s getting to ready to leave, and the family’s gathering to say their goodbyes. Betty’s painting Cent’s nails as a special, protective treat as well. Oh, and this week you’ll get a reminder of what makes Mama (Cent’s mother) who she is.

Here’s my WIPpet math for 2/13/2019 – I’m taking the 2, 0, and 1 for 201 words from Keeping House, Appalachian Elementals #2.

Note: the section in orange comes from last week’s #WIPpet

“We’ve got plenty ahead of us, hotcakes.” Betty set the polish aside. “And it was as much for you as it was practice.” Betty touched the back of Cent’s hand. “Switch out.”

“Aren’t we done?” Cent glanced at the clock.

“One more layer.” Betty looked to Pyre. “Stowne says they want you. They’re already talking to Exan.”

#KeepingHouseNovel #RainbowSnippets Eighty-Two: Going Armed

Ah, winter in Northeast Tennessee. Freeze one day, burn the next. Last night at midnight it was 66 F, but twenty-three hours later? It’s 11 p.m. and 33 F. This is why everyone is getting sick… Okay, that and flu season is peeking here.

It’s Saturday, so it’s time for Rainbowsnippets*! This one is uniquely mine, but there are lots of other great snippets to read, so after you finish here click the FB link at the bottom of the post to discover other great LGBTQIA authors and their works.

Cent, from Cleaning House and Mama etc. is the protagonist in my current #WIP, Keeping House,  and she’s currently butting head with another character, Dane Gow,  she-king of the Hunter Fey,  so you’d best pay attention to the king…. or you might get hurt.

The first sentence, in orange, is Cent’s and she’s swiftly losing her patience with Dane.

     “What now?”

#WriteLGBTQ #WIP #KeepingHouseNovel Light

#writeLGBTQ #KeepingHouseNovel
The theme is light. Light one up, light of my life, ray of light, make light of. There are lots of ways to use the word light, but I’m going for a simple one, light as in morning light.

“Look at Lord Sun risin’ to tell us hello.” Dane pointed east to where light peeked over the nearby mountains. “It’s your post-Brigid’s day off, boys. Your time to rest, snuggle up with them you want, eat all you can hold from the table until it’s emptied to prep for dinner, and drink all them cases of the good hooch I’ve cracked open for y’all.”

#1lineWed #amwriting #Paranormal Second Chance

Here’s another short-‘n-sweet  #1lineWed post. The theme is second chance. I’m not using the exact wording here, I’m using second chance in context so read between the lines.

One. Two. Three. The song repeated in their heads, and they pressed together. Their bodies were dancing too, Cent realized, small movements, Dane holding her by the waist while Cent’s hand rested on her shoulder. This wasn’t a memory. This was now. They’d overcome the past and were cutting into new territory.

#WIPpetWed #AppalachianElementals 2/6/2019 Hotcakes

Yay for Wednesday! Why? No, not hump day. I say yay because it means it’s time for #WIPpet Wednesday*, a blog hop where authors share from their current works in progress (WIPs).

This week I’m picking up where we left off in Chapter Two.  Cent’s getting to ready to leave, and the family’s gathering to say their goodbyes. The week you’ll get to see a bit of Ivan’s kindness and the cuteness that is Betty and Pyre together.

Here’s my #WIPpet math for 2/6/2019: 9-0=9 short paragraphs from Keeping House, novel two in the #AppalachianElementals series.

The first sentence, in orange, comes from last week’s #WIPpet.

“Black nails again? Good grief.” Mama removed her hat and coat and held them out for Ivan to hang by the door.

#WriteLGBTQ #WIP #KeepingHouseNovel Dance

#writeLGBTQ #KeepingHouseNovel
The theme is dance. Dance in the streets. Dance in the sheets. Dance of joy. No matter how you move, dance is an expression of our deeper being.

“There’ll be dancin’ after King Dane finishes.” Alexandria smoothed her dress. “Once, they were dignified dances. Hands together. Feet moving. Respectable. Lovely jigs and reels.”

“You mean square dancing?” Cent smiled around her mug.

“No. And nothin’ like the vulgar displays about to commence.”

#1lineWed #amwriting #Fantasy Letter

Here’s another short-‘n-sweet  #1lineWed post. The theme is letter. Well, not quite. Letter is another one of those non-existent words in my manuscript. Hey, I can’t use all of them, can I? Say no, and realize that I replaced letter with message. This tiny bit of a much larger story comes from my upcoming release Keeping House, novel two in the Appalachian Elementals series.

     It ends.

     Nae more.

     Th’ rightful king is ensconced.

Th’ natural order has been disrupted by one of us.

All those messages flowed through Cent’s body as smoke filled the Great Hall and the metal throne erupted into flames.
