Epilogue, the final installment of the Striking Balance Mixed Media Journey. This project has been one hell of an undertaking, a challenge from the very beginning but I saw it through. I’ll be writing a reflective post within the week, but… sigh. This has truly been a learning experience. Striking Balance: The Peculiar Making of Beatrice Benjamin Sophia Scott Schnell Gow is now available for purchase. To celebrate its release and the fact that it is my tenth novel, I have created a one-of-a-kind companion mixed-media art book, the Striking Balance Mixed Media Journey, but creating the book has become been more a personal challenge than anything. That said, I’m sharing the mixed media pages with you because the art created such a direct tie with the author’s, meaning my mind that it can’t help but enrich the reading experience.
Below you’ll find your final opportunities to interact with the novel.

Rising Appalachia – “Novels of Acquaintance”
(This song might well become the theme song for the entire Appalachian Elementals series.)
First Lines
I stare at my reflection in the vertical pool that is Rayne, turning to better see my outfit, my hair. “You knew my heart before I knew myself.”
Is it over? Is that all? Of this tale within the Appalachian Elementals series, yes, but certainly not the series. Nooooo. I’ve many more tales to share from this world, from my world, from the world inside my head and outside my kitchen window. Next up, a few fun shorter tales while I work on the next novel in the series, Wandering House, which is set in the main timeline, meaning that we’ll be back to Cent Rhodes and company along with a few new companions drawn from Striking Balance. How will I tie it all together? You’ll just have to wait to find out.
I’m taking a few days off before I return to my normal rotation of 2-3 posts per week so I’ll see you soon. (waves and retreats into the mountain forest)
