#PoetTues Beyond the Two Lane: A Six-Pack of Haikus

These came in a blast like my poems usually do.

My name is my own.

The same goes for my pronouns.

Hate doesn’t change this.

I understand me.

Pleasing you is not my goal.

Think before you speak.

I have reached the point

where dismissals of my name

speak only of you.

Regarding pronouns:

You haven’t the right to choose

or to replace mine.

Single syllables

create permanent roadblocks

etched with disrespect.

The road to respect

has traffic, a flow, and you

are blocking my lane.
