One million small tasks I’ve already forgotten ✔
I’ve still got a list of things to do before Cleaning House is released, but I got a few things checked off this week, and that’s definitely something.
Welcome to this week’s installment of Rainbowsnippets*! This one is uniquely mine, but there are lots of other great snippets to read, so after you finish here click the FB link at the bottom of the post to discover other great LGBTQIA authors and their works.
I’m sharing from Cleaning House again. The novel is an Appalachian-set Contemporary/ Paranormal Fantasy where the past and the present are blended with a healthy dose of granny magic. The mountains are alive, and a little moonshine can cure most everything.
The Setup: Cent’s talking to her cousin Aubrey on the phone, getting an update on what’s been happening with the family.
Note: K-Town is local slang for Knoxville, which is located about 90 miles away from where Aunt Tess lives.
[Cent] “So how are you, Aub?”
“Still driving back an’ forth to K-Town on the weekends. You know how it is.”
Ethan during the week. Straight on the weekends around any family besides Tess. No one should have to live two lives for their family to accept them. “Why do you think I moved away?”
Leading two lives has gotta stink, but Aubrey stayed when Cent didn’t. Wonder why? (drifts away with a smile on her face) Keep reading along, and you might figure it out.
