Guess what? The ebook version of Cleaning House is available on Amazon for the pre-order price of $2.99 US and comparable prices internationally on Amazon. Yes, I’m happy dancing. This is far from my first novel, but it’s the first I’ve been able to be so hands-on with (authoring aside). It’s been an interesting process, and tomorrow I’m on to the print copy process. You can pre-order the ebook HERE or by clicking the cover below.
I’m also in search of ARC reviewers. Let me know in the comments if you’re interested, and we’ll talk.
Welcome to this week’s installment of Rainbowsnippets*! This one is uniquely mine, but there are lots of other great snippets to read, so after you finish here click the FB link at the bottom of the post to discover other great LGBTQIA authors and their works.
I’m sharing from Cleaning House again. The novel an Appalachian-set Contemporary/ Paranormal Fantasy where the past and the present are blended with a healthy dose of granny magic. The mountains are alive, and a little moonshine can cure most everything.
The Setup: Cent wants to open the envelope the scrumptious messenger left behind, but she can’t find the scissors, so she opts for a paring knife, sliding it beneath the taped flap to open the envelope, pulling out a single, handwritten page that reads as follows:
I need you to come home to help me clean up the homestead for sale. I’ll keep you fed, and you can stay there or at my house until it’s sold.
Mr. Jones at Dryler’s said he could use you ten hours a week, so that’ll give you some money too.
And some collections service man came by the other day to serve you papers. I gave him a fake address in Carter County so he’d go away.
Never mind him or what your mama said last time you spoke to her.
Just get yourself home.
I need your help.
P.S. Quit changing your phone number.
Could you go back home after so long? Even if it were to help someone who you love dearly and accepts you as-is? Hard choice, isn’t it? If you’ve read Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey, then you know this is Cent’s call to adventure.
