I’m an author, in case you didn’t already know, and, like most authors, I prefer being alone or in the company of a few friends and family– at most. Being social is not my thing. It never has been. I had to be social today, and it proved exhausting. I need a quiet weekend to recover. I’d like to have, say, two-three weeks longer, but that simply isn’t going to happen. I must go out and about again on Monday. Ugh.
This week’s #Rainbowsnippet comes again from Surrogate: Hunted, which is scheduled for release by Supposed Crimes in March 2018. The ebook version will be released on February 18, 2018, so why not head over to Amazon and pre-order your copy today?
The setup: Etain has agreed to let Trn help her through the eja part of her breeding cycle, but she awakens to find someone else there too, which isn’t uncommon for a woman like Etain, but it still surprises her.
Note: Silver-pelt refers to any Cycalk past their breeding years, meaning they are no longer able to have children. The fun part of that process, however, is still up for grabs.
Trn spread soft kisses across Etain’s abdomen, saying kind though slurred words as a second silver-pelt held her she-beast secure in their arms. This silver pelt…I don’t know…man, woman. No, a trrnkwda. Trn had told her about them. Neither or both or somewhere in between. A person who’s helping me.
“No, you will not run outside again.” This silver pelt spoke in such clear, firm Alyward that She-Beast stopped fighting, and Trn held another mug to her mouth.
