#Writerslife #Writegoal September Roundup & October Goals
This is where I look back at my September goals… it’s honesty time.
Before: September looks to be a quieter month in my house… maybe, but some things simply can’t be predicted.
End of the month reflection: Bwahaha! Famous last words. This month has been very chaotic. Doctor visits, new computer, just a myriad of issues. It’s called life, and, yes, it did effect my September goals to some extent.
No goal other than waiting to hear back about edits.
Easy to do. Still waiting.
Goal? No goal. Give it a rest and come back to it in October with fresh eyes.
Goal: Dig into it… finish that first chapter. A small but significant goal.
Oops. Fail. I got nothing accomplished on this. Goal not met.
Goal: Let’s go for 4K this month.
I’ve added 6K. Goal met and exceeded
Goal: After last month’s epic fail, let’s go for one new poem.
Actually, I wrote six. Goal met and exceeded!
Goal: 14 minimum. Five #WIPpet Wednesdays are already scheduled, and four #RainbowSnippets are scheduled too, so it’s a simple matter of staying ahead of the game, which means that for every one that is published, another must be scheduled.
Published 15 posts – goal met and slightly exceeded!
Short Fiction/ Nonfiction
Goal: One completed draft. I’m finished waiting for inspiration, so I’m going with what I know best. My goal this month is to rough the first short story for a new anthology – Tentative title – Stardust Connections: Tales from the Surrogate and Taelach Sisters Series. An additional piece would be wonderful, but I’m not adding it to my my expectations.
Goal met and exceeded! One short story rough for Stardust Connections completed! I also completed one piece of short nonfiction and submitted it for possible publication.
Goal: One, just one. Stick your neck out there, turtle woman. The worst anyone can say is no… and I think you’ve heard that a few hundred times before. All authors have. It’s part of the game.
Goal met and exceeded! I actually managed two. One, a collection of five poems has already been rejected. I am waiting to hear back about the second submission, the nonfiction piece mentioned above.
If the edits come in, get them done. Simple as that.
Let it sit one more month. Let it stew.
Another 4 K – let’s see if we can top it again
Fourteen minimum again. I posted a Surrogate Sunday Aesthetic yesterday, 10/1, so this point counts as number two. Add four Rainbowsnippets and four WIPpets, and I’ll have ten posts. Only four more to go.
