This will be a hellacious week in our household, so I scheduled this RainbowSnippet* early, just in case.
Update on 8/11: Everything went well and now we’re destressing. Anna’s surgery went splendidly, and my SSD has finally, after a 2 1/2 year fight, been approved by a judge. We’re exhausted to say the least, and we’re ready for some same-ol’-same-ol’ back in our lives.
Routine. We like our routine.
But, alas, our youngest leaves for college next week so the routine will be changing. We’ll miss him terribly, but he’s got a great opportunity, and we’re glad he’s taking it.
This snippet again comes from Surrogate: Hunted, an epic Sci-Fi novel whose protagonist is both bisexual and polyamrous. Hunted is the second novel in the Surrogate Series and is scheduled for release early 2018.
The Setup: Brigit has stormed off to her room, and Merch is seeking the succor of a stiff drink to calm her nerves.
“I know you’re upset, but take it easy, Mo Terin.” Dresh pulled the bottle from Merch’s hands. “This drink’s never kind to you.”
“My hangover, my problem.”
“You drink two more that fast, and it’ll be my problem too.” Dresh set the bottle across the table.

Doesn’t sound like she’d be solving anything with that drink. It wouldn’t for me either–I’m such a lightweight that it doesn’t take a lot to be too much.

Well, this is Merch we’re talking about, but four shots so quickly will down anyone. (she’s already had two in as many moments at this point)

Heh, love the line, “My hangover, my problem”, not to mention the comeback which follows. 🙂

“My hangover, my problem” yeah I know that feeling… And it will be a problem! But yeah, Dresh is right. Great snippet. 🙂

Not my favorite thing either, but I don’t think she’s going to end up with one, thanks to Dresh.

I don’t blame Merch. I’d need a drink too. 🙂

Four drinks of that stuff and it’ll be a messy problem for all.
