#RainbowSnippets 6/24/17: Confusion

Happy Saturday! It’s quiet at present in my house. Everyone except me is sleeping in, and I’m using the time for writing. Today is also our youngest child’s eighteenth birthday. How fast they grow! I could say a whole lot more mom-nostalgic things, but I’ll refrain for my own sake.

I’ve decided to join the Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook. Their description states: “Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).”

I can do that, but, since I’m using #WIPpet Wednesday to share from my one of my WIPs, I’ll be using #RainbowSnippets to share upcoming publications. So, every weekend look here for six sentences from Surrogate: Hunted. The snippets won’t be enough to reveal the full story, but each snippet will be a bit further along so you’ll get a feel for what the story is about.

Hint: It’s LGBTQ+ Epic Sci-Fi with diverse characters and a bisexual, polyamorous protagonist.

Here’s your first #RainbowSnippet look at Surrogate: Hunted, but after you’re done reading please go to the RainbowSnippets Facebook Page and read snippets from other LGBTQ+ authors.

Etain sighed when Merch came into view. Dressed in orange spaceralls, her gray hair pulled back in a low ponytail— royalty or not, Merch didn’t bother with fashion outside of court. Such a beautiful Human inside and out. “What is happening?”

“Hey, Sweetie.” Merch touched her vid and winked.

More next week… promise!

Rainbow Snippets is a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ authors, readers, and bloggers to share 6 sentences each week from a work of fiction—published or in-progress—or a book recommendation. Feel free to join in!

    • Well, overalls and coverall just didn’t cut it in space so… spaceralls. Word creation is one of the funner aspects of writing, IMO, especially Sci-Fi.

    • Hunted is due out next year, but the first novel in the series, Surrogate, is available at all the usual spots and with my publisher, Supposed Crimes.

    • I’ve gotten to the point of creating species, creating words, and even to creating languages in this series. (hence the glossary for the series at the top of the website) It’s fun, actually, but it might be a sign of illness too. I’ll figure out which later.

    • I’m actually thinking on posting the entire chapter soon. It is chapter one, after all. Or, I might just eek it out in snippets. We’ll see. Thanks for the feedback!
