#RainbowSnippets 7/1/2017: Fear

It’s Saturday again, and it’s July, the time when my town has its annual July 4th festival. It’s a small town but quite the tourist trap. We’ve regular tour groups, a historic district, guided tours…it’s a small but vibrant location, especially during the summer months. This evening, unless it rains, we’re going to take our camp chairs downtown and watch a Beatles tribute band called the WannaBeatles followed by fireworks so I’m making this #RainbowSnippet the night before.

This bit comes from Surrogate: Hunted, Chapter Two.

The unidentified craft reached the Tidal with remarkable speed, covering its tracking marker then moving on, leaving no sign of the smaller vessel in its wake. “What the—” Merch’s voice caught in her throat. “Ah…ah, hell.”

“It is gone.” Etain focused on the Prepis and its lifeboats. You’re our leader, Mercine, our Dearest Akierli, so do something.
